What is "Volume Eating"?

We have all seen the comparison pictures in magazines or throughout social media that show you can eat this or all of this for x-amount of calories. That is the best example of volume eating, you get more food for less calories which makes you feel fuller. For instance, 20 carbs worth of cookies will be a lot less satisfying than 20 carbs worth of veggies.

I thought today I would share will you some of the best volume foods :)

1. Salad

You can make a huge salad for very few calories!

2. Zucchini Noodles

These guys are great! However you will need to purchase a spiraler to make them but you can easily get one off of Amazon for very little.

3. Spaghetti Squash

Yes. Just yes. This is so easy! Slice it in half. Spray a pan with non-stick spray and place both halves face down and bake. Then let it cool and fork out the "spaghetti".

4. Broccoli Slaw

Yes, this exists and it is wonderful to add to omelets and salads!

5. Greek Yogurt

Most Greek Yogurts' serving size is 1 cup for 12-20 grams of protein. That is insane! Getting down a cup of yogurt is much easier than 20 grams of meat and a lot easier to take with you and not look strange ha ha... These new Greek yogurts from HEB are super clean and macro friendly.

6. "Zoats"

What on earth are '"zoats"? Zucchini and oatmeal. A great way to add volume and save your carbs.

7. Arctic Zero

Delicious. Absolutely wonderful. A bit pricey but so worth it and its lactose free! The brownie batter is bomb and you can totally indulge eating the whole container! Didn't think you'd be able to eat an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting and still make gains did you??

8. Protein Ice Cream

Less expensive and just as good! You can make this any way you want but the base is always the same: Protein powder, almond milk, and ice. Blend it up to a thick consistency. You could add banana if you wanted or truly anything to fit your macros.

9. Egg White and Veggie Omelet

10. Protein Pancakes

AND

11. Protein Waffles

I can eat this every morning? Yup you sure can! :)

12. Puffed Rice Cereal

Remember Rice Krispies as a kid? These are kind of like that. A serving fills an entire bowl!

13. Rice Cakes

Staple food for all. You do not have to get the plains ones! You can totally get the flavored ones. Whatever your heart desires and add peanut butter! Highly recommended :) great way to reach macros for carbs if you have some left over at the end of the day.

That's all I have for today! Be sure to comment about any of your high-volume food ideas :) stay golden!
