You ARE Stronger than You Think

Normally I would never write such a long post. But yesterday was a difficult day for me and I figured someone may need to hear this message too.
My fitness journey has been a truly thrilling experience. I am so incredibly grateful for the athletes I have found who have given me, and continue to give, such solid advice. I have learned that this is not a temporary phase but a lifetime journey. Instead of looking at this journey as a negative thing, a form of punishment, I choose to see it as a positive, a form of self-love. Yes, there are days I fall off track or I want to skip the gym or have an extra cheat meal but consistency is key and results are addicting. Eating whole foods that are nutrient dense and less processed has given me such energy. Consistent exercise has made me more happy, energized, less stressed, given me more confidence, and has even helped me sleep better.
Fitness is not just a physical thing. In fact, I would argue that it is more mental. Its a form of therapy in combating stress or a bad day. Each day I grow stronger, physically, with more reps and weight, than I ever thought was possible. As a result, my mind grows stronger, as I realize I am so much more capable. I tell myself and others:
"You have a heart that BEATS, lungs that BREATHE, and legs that can MOVE. Use them!"
I won't lie, yesterday was the first difficult day I have had in a long time in regards to self-confidence. Working in a gym is a TRUE blessing as you are constantly surrounded by like-minded people who push themselves to be better. We all eat the same, train the same, aim to be positive and work and play hard. For the majority, this is extremely motivational. However, there are moments like yesterday, when you can begin to feel small, as there are others around you who know so much more and have been on their journey much longer. Yes, this can be intimidating and you may feel like you will never get to their level. However, you CANNOT beat yourself up. You have to tell yourself, everyone has a beginning and results don't come over night. It's a process, a very long one. But remember why you started and look how far you have come with your hard work and commitment. Eat Clean. Train Dirty. Work Hard. Play Hard. And ALWAYS, love yourself!
